The Biology Department offers opportunities for study in the areas of environmental, molecular, and organismal biology. Applying the scientific method, students learn to collect and analyze data while working closely with a dedicated faculty. The biology degree prepares students for careers and opportunities in a variety of environmental fields, teaching, medical technology, as well as advanced study in fields such as medicine.

In addition to the traditional course offerings, the Department offers extended field trip courses, primarily to Florida and Central America. Students are also encouraged to participate in independent study projects and internships.
