Massachusetts Mammals

Massachusetts is home to 57 species of terrestrial mammals from 7 orders, and 16 families. Rodents exhibit the greatest diversity with 20 species, the Carnivora are represented by 13 species, insectivores have 9 species, followed by bats with 8 species, 4 species of lagomorphs, 2 artiodactyls, and 1 marsupial.
